Sandstorm Team Util
Warquila @ Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Sand Force Impish Nature 252 HP / 92 Def / 164 Spe - Defog - Roost - Brave Bird - Drill Run / Iron Head / Rock Slide
Warquila uses Sand Force to provide defensive utility on sand teams while maintaining offensive pressure. With its immunity to Steal Rock chip thanks to Heavy-Duty Boots, Warquila serves as a reliable Defogger that doesn’t crumble in sandstorm conditions. Roost gives it the recovery needed to stay healthy through hazard control duties, while Brave Bird ensures it isn’t passive against common Grass- and Fighting-types. Drill Run, Iron Head, or Rock Slide round out the set depending on team needs—Drill Run punishes Rock- and Steel-types, Iron Head checks Fairies, and Rock Slide offers safer Flying coverage without recoil. The defensive EV spread allows Warquila to stomach physical hits while outspeeding key walls, making it a unique blend of utility and resilience on sand balance.
Offensive Pivot
Warquila @ Choice Scarf / Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Mountaineer / Sand Force Jolly Nature 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe - U-turn / Roost - Drill Run - Brave Bird - Iron Head / Rock Slide
With Mountaineer, Warquila becomes a momentum-grabbing pivot immune to Stealth Rock chip, while Sand Force allows it to become a threatening breaker on sand teams. A Choice Scarf turns Warquila into a fast revenge killer, while Heavy-Duty Boots keeps it healthy over the course of the match if running Sand Force. U-turn keeps up pressure and punishes switches, though Roost can replace it for longevity. Drill Run synergizes with Sand Force, giving it a boosted option to punish Rock- and Steel-types that resist Brave Bird. Iron Head provides Fairy coverage, while Rock Slide offers recoil-free Flying STAB and utility against opposing Flying-types. Warquila’s strong Speed tier and immunity to entry hazard chip with Mountaineer makes it an excellent pivot consistently keeping momentum in its team’s favor.
