Umeltaka is a rather potent threat with it's full power Eruptions. These Eruptions are even more potent because they can't be reduced in power by hazards. Flamethrowere or Fire Blast are for if Umeltaka gets chipped and Eruption becomes weaker than them. Earth Power calls out Slowking Galar and non-Air Balloon Heatrans while Thunderbolt allows it to contest Moltres and other flying types who resist Earth Power in the tier.

### Weaknesses

Umeltaka's poor bulk makes it's most potent tool, Eruption, almost useless after it gets hit even once. And even with Choice Specs or Life Orb, Umeltaka has mediocre special attack, meaning that without Eruption it is rendered to merely tickling the enemy. And even with full power Eruption, Umeltaka has a mediocre speed tier, but it wants to boost it's hits with Choice Specs or Life Orb, however without Choice Scarf it gets outsped by 16 Pokemon in the tier at base speed, essentially forcing the use of Choice Scarf. And without a boosting item, Umeltaka fails to kill much of what it wants to.
