Offensive

Mechabang @ Assault Vest / Choice Specs Ability: Analytic Modest Nature 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD - Flash Cannon - Boomburst - Focus Blast - Earth Power

This set turns Mechabang into a wallbreaker and tanky pivot. Its naturally high bulk lets it take hits while Analytic boosts the power of its attacks when moving last, which pairs perfectly with Mechabang’s low Speed. Flash Cannon is its most reliable STAB, threatening Fairy- and Rock-types. Boomburst hits incredibly hard as a secondary STAB, punishing neutral targets that would otherwise sponge Steel moves. Focus Blast provides vital coverage against Steel-types that resist its main STABs, while Earth Power punishes bulky Electric- and Fire-types.

Assault Vest capitalizes on Mechabang’s excellent special bulk, letting it switch into special attackers and immediately pressure them back. Choice Specs, on the other hand, trades survivability for raw wallbreaking power, enabling Mechabang to overwhelm traditional Steel resists. With its massive bulk, typing, and strong special coverage, Offensive Mechabang can reliably break through defensive cores and force progress for its team.

Defensive

Mechabang @ Leftovers Ability: Analytic Calm Nature 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD - Flash Cannon - Boomburst - Rest - Sleep Talk / Heal Bell

This set emphasizes Mechabang’s role as a special wall and status absorber. Its Steel typing combined with colossal special bulk allows it to check key special attackers, while Analytic still boosts its output when it inevitably moves last. Flash Cannon offers a reliable STAB to punish Fairy- and Ice-types, while Boomburst prevents it from becoming passive, letting it chip neutral foes and stop setup sweepers from exploiting it.

Rest provides reliable recovery, which is essential for a defensive set, and can be paired with Sleep Talk to avoid becoming dead weight while asleep. Alternatively, Heal Bell allows Mechabang to act as a cleric, removing status from the team and supporting bulkier sandstorm or balance builds. Leftovers ensures passive healing throughout the match, keeping it consistently healthy. Defensive Mechabang shines best as a team anchor, patching up weaknesses to special attackers and providing utility without sacrificing too much offensive presence.
