Abilities
Sharpness increases the power of all slicing moves by 50%.
Sheer Force increases the power of moves that have beneficial secondary effects by 30%, but removes those additional effects.
No Guard ensures that all attacks used by, and targeted at, the ability-bearer hit without fail.

Mantiverous @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Focus Sash / Life Orb Ability: Sharpness EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Aqua Cutter - X-Scissor - Night Slash / Flip Turn / Aqua Jet - Swords Dance This set allows Mantiverous to threaten a lot of meta Pokemon including Landorus-T, Cinderace, Mega Diancie, Volcarona, Great Tusk and more. at +2 Mantiverous can deal exceptional damage and threaten Pokemon such as Hatterene, Terapagos, Tapu Lele, Kyurem and many other common threats in OU. However, this set still severely struggles against bulky physical walls such as Toxapex, Corviknight and Clodsire.
No Guard (Specs)
Mantiverous @ Choice Specs Ability: No Guard EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Flip Turn - Focus Blast - Hydro Pump - Bug Buzz This set allows Mantiverous to abuse his special attack stat, which is something that can catch your opponents off guard. It threatens a lot of Pokemon that Mantiverous otherwise could not deal with running a physical set such as Melmetal (without AV), Alomomola, and Moltres. However this set is unable to deal with special tanks such as Galarian Slowking, and Clodsire, which leaves Mantiverous in an uncomfortable situation, forcing a switch.
No Guard (Band)
Mantiverous @ Choice Band Ability: No Guard EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Flip Turn - Dynamic Punch - Gunk Shot - Waterfall / Megahorn / First Impression This set is similar to the Specs set, except it provides more coverage allowing Mantiverous to assist with other common threats such as Iron Valiant, Kingambit (with below 5 members fallen at +0), Landorus-T and Kartana. However, its damage falls short on similar threats mentioned in the Weaknesses.
Sheer Force
Mantiverous @ Life Orb Ability: Sheer Force EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Flip Turn / Swords Dance - Knock Off / Aqua Jet - Waterfall - Lunge This set allows Mantiverous to abuse Sheer Force to the fullest. The combination of Life Orb and Waterfall / Lunge / Knock Off allows Mantiverous to deal serious damage and threaten Gholdengo, Iron Treads, Gliscor, Galarian Slowking and more. Using Aqua Jet allows Mantiverous to clean up kills and dish out good damage at +2. Unfortunately this set can still be threatened by common physical walls however, Flip Turn allows Mantiverous to pivot out safely while doing chip damage to any physical tank.

Team Options
Due to the fact that Mantiverous is somewhat forced to used certain items to accomodate certain sets, it is vital that Mantiverous is paired with a strong hazard cleaner. Pokemon such as Terapagos, Gliscor or Corviknight make great teammates for Mantiverous as they all can clear hazards for Mantiverous while also providing strong utility for the team. Mantiverous should also be used with Pokemon that can threaten the Pokemon that wall Mantiverous. Pokemon such as Raging Bolt, Mega Diancie, Heatran and Landorus-T pair well with Mantiverous as they allow him to pivot into these Pokemon when he is threatened by common defensive walls.
Weaknesses
Mantiverous is a wonderful fakemon with access to really strong abilities and movesets. However, low defences and hp hold it back. Mantiverous struggles against mons that are bulky and and can abuse that bulk. Pokemon such as Closdire, Alomomola, Corviknight, Toxapex and more can give Mantiverous a hard time. Although Mantiverous is an exceptional attacker, it struggles heavily against, and is forced out by offensive threats like Tapu Koko, Raging Bolt, and Kingambit. Mantiverous also is crippled due to being forced to used certain items over HDB, allowing him to take massive damage from entry hazards. A good hazard removal Pokemon such as Terapagos, Gliscor or Corviknight is highly recommended to be in a team with Mantiverous.
