- Powerful offensive abilities. While Strong Jaw is very good too, the real kicker is the potential of its Sheer Force + Life Orb combo (also it learns few Strong Jaw-boosted moves.
- High base Attack. 130 base Attack is exceptional, especially combined with its offensive capacity.
- Solid physical bulk. 100 base HP with 118 base Defence is amazing physical bulk, though hampered down by a poor 58 SpD,
- Many resistances. Oremand's defensive typing grants it 8 resistances and an immunity.
- Strong neutral offensive STAB. Rock and Steel STAB is neutral to most of the roster on its own. The addition of Earthquake allows it to hit the absolute entire roster neutrally.
- Good utility moves. Oremand has access to a surprising amount of utility moves including Rapid Spin, Wide Guard, Thunder Wave, and Stealth Rock.

- Two 4x weaknesses. While having several resistances, two 4x weaknesses is a lot to watch out for.
- Limited super effective coverage options. Other than Earthquake and Stomping Tantrum, the only good coverage option Oremand gets is Liquidation and Crunch.
- Poor special bulk. 58 base SpD is bad but not irredeemable when Oremand also has 100 base HP.
