- Amazing abilities. Each ability is a certified banger. Intimidate is great support in Singles and Doubles as a pivot, Chlorophyll makes it a threatening sun sweeper that adds to its unpredictability as a threatening mixed attacker, and with careful minmax'ing to be able to utilize dynamic speed to suddenly outspeed your opponents after piggybacking off an ally's Quiver Dance, Victory Dance, etc.
- Decent mixed offense. While 100 base Atk and 100 base SpA is not exceptional on their own, having both makes Maractaya less predictable as it can specialize or go mixed.
- Strong stat-boosting set-up. Maractaya possesses powerful set-up moves like Quiver Dance, Dragon Dance, and the highly synergistic Growth.
- Solid attacking moves. Maractaya's STABs have amazing firepower in moves like Outrage, Petal Dance, and Leaf Storm. It also gets access to good coverage like Poison Jab and Sucker Punch.
- Decent bulk. While not winning records, 95/77/77 is pretty decent compared to some other Pokémon of a similar role.

- Mediocre typing. While it has several 0.25x resistances, it also possesses 6 weaknesses.
- Middling Speed outside of harsh sunlight. 87 is not awful but finds itself in an awkward spot between too fast for Trick Room but too slow for everywhere else.
- Unspecialized. While it is a decent all-rounder which allows it to be flexible, there is usually a better Pokémon than it for whichever job you provide it (in Singles).
