- Levitate. On top of having one of the best defensive typings, Levitate eliminates its sole 4x weakness to Ground.
- Good base Attack. 110 is a great base Attack stat, especially when it can be enhanced with Swords Dance.
- Decent base Speed. 95 is pretty solid and can be enhanced with Flame Charge.
- Good coverage. Kamerog's coverage options allow it to net complete offensive neutrality through the combination of its Fire STAB, Ground, and Dark.
- Solid offense-focused movepool. Kamerog gets great offensive tools, and not just attacking moves. Taunt and Will-O-Wisp are great additions to its already great kit.

- Low special bulk. 80/60 isn't necessarily bad but it is pretty humble.
- To raise Attack or to raise Speed…? That is the question! Both can be boosted in its movepool but not simultaneously, making it difficult to choose the decision of what is require more in a specific battling situation which can also land it into moveslot syndrome.
