- Incredible base Speed. 130 base Speed places it among the fastest Pokémon in National Dex, allowing it a lot of freedom for its utility moves and dealing damage before an opponent's action.
- Good base Attack. While not the best, 105 is pretty good when you're one of the fastest Pokémon with great offensive options.
- Amazing typing. Fairy/Fighting is a great offensive typing and a decent (but polarizing) defensive typing with five weaknesses but two ½ resists, two ¼ resists, and an immunity.
- Great movepool. Hueblow's movepool has great variety in potent attacking moves, strong set-up options, and great utility moves.

- Bulk of wet paper. 50/35/40 bulk is so bad, it is essentially reverse Registeel. This is quite possibly among the squishiest Fully-Evolved Pokémon. Even Fake Out scares this guy into a 2HKO.
- Vulnerable to priority. Due to its poor bulk and high speed, priority is the easiest answer to Hueblow. It is neutral to many priority moves and is unfortunately weak to Bullet Punch, used most notably by Mr. Technician man himself, Scizor.
