- Spectacularly bulky (with Eviolite). With eviolite, Drakoon has the potential to be as tanky as Bastiodon but without a 4x weakness kneecapping it.
- Surprising longevity (with Toxic Orb). Toxic Heal with Toxic Orb allows it to last a long time with, essentially, a stronger Leftovers and non-volatile status immunity. Without Toxic Orb, its still great because in can switch-in to Toxic Spikes without care.
- Hazards, hazards everywhere. Drakoon has access to three different hazards, including the incredibly impactful Sticky Web.
- Counter. Interestingly, when into physical leads, Drakoon can deal a heavy amount of damage by “returning it to the sender”. So, once hazards are up, you know the gameplan.

- Other than bulk, poor stats. Drakoon's offensive stats are abysmal and it is very slow so its hazard setting hinges on living hits.
- Item slot is competitive. Drakoon likes both Toxic Orb and Eviolite. Toxic Orb gives it the recovery its lacks but Eviolite heightens its bulk massively.
- Outside of hazards, movepool is lacking. Drakoon doesn't have many useful moves beyond its hazards (partly due to its lacking offensive stats).
